What information and documents you need for the SGAC
A practical checklist of the passport details, trip information and accommodation data required to complete the SG Arrival Card.
6 min read
The SG Arrival Card is a short form, but it requires precise information. Having the right documents and details ready before starting the form makes the submission quick and reduces the risk of errors that could cause problems at the immigration counter.
Your passport
The passport is the central document for the SGAC. Information on the form must match the passport exactly, including spelling, hyphens, spaces and middle names.
- Passport number, copied character by character.
- Full name as printed on the passport, with surname and given names in the correct fields.
- Nationality as printed in the passport.
- Date of birth and gender.
- Date of issue and date of expiry.
Singapore generally requires at least six months of passport validity from the date of entry. A passport that is close to expiry should be renewed before applying. See Requirements for a fuller overview.
Your travel details
The form asks for the basic logistics of your trip. Most of this information is on your e-ticket, booking confirmation or boarding pass:
- Date of arrival in Singapore.
- Mode of transport: air, sea or land.
- Flight number, vessel name or land checkpoint, depending on the mode.
- Last city or port of embarkation before Singapore.
If the trip involves a connection, the relevant flight is the one that actually lands in Singapore, not the original departure flight. Travellers crossing by land from Malaysia should select the correct checkpoint (Woodlands or Tuas).
Where you will stay in Singapore
The form asks for an address in Singapore. Travellers staying in a hotel can enter the hotel name and address. Travellers staying with family or in private accommodation enter the actual street address.
If your trip includes multiple accommodations, the address of the first night is generally what should be declared. The address is used for contact purposes and does not bind you to a single hotel.
Onward travel information
Singapore generally expects visitors to hold an onward or return ticket. The SG Arrival Card itself does not always require ticket numbers, but immigration officers can ask about onward travel at the counter. Having the confirmation on your phone or in your email is recommended.
Email address
A valid email address is required. The acknowledgement of submission is sent to that address. If the email is mistyped, the acknowledgement is lost — although the submission itself remains valid in ICA's system. Use an email address you can actually access while travelling.
Health declaration information
The SG Arrival Card includes an electronic health declaration covering the 14 days before arrival. Have the following ready:
- The countries and regions visited in the 14 days before arrival.
- Recent symptoms, if any, that are relevant to the declaration.
- Any other health information specifically requested by the form at the time of submission.
For a dedicated overview, see The SG Arrival Card and the electronic health declaration.
Information for travelling companions
When submitting for a group, the same set of information is required for each traveller: passport, nationality, date of birth and so on. Each accompanying person, including children and infants, must be added as a separate traveller within the submission.
Documents you do not need
Several documents that travellers sometimes prepare are not required at the SGAC stage:
- Hotel reservation as an attached file. Only the address is requested.
- Travel insurance. Singapore does not require insurance for entry, although it is advisable.
- A printed copy of the SG Arrival Card. The submission is fully electronic.
A practical checklist
Before starting the form, gather:
- Passport (and passports for each travelling companion).
- Flight or vessel confirmation showing the arrival date and number.
- Hotel or accommodation address in Singapore.
- A working email address.
- Your travel history for the past 14 days.
With this information ready, the form takes roughly five to ten minutes for a single traveller and a little longer for a family submission. For common pitfalls, see Common mistakes and problems with the SG Arrival Card.
